Just an idea but if we all get steam machines and little mini displays we can have a pretty sick LAN at MIGW next year.

If I was Mr Nintendo I'd make Pikmin Innerspace.
Honey I shrunk the Olimar.
Play as Olimar but you get shrunk down even more and trapped in a full size Mario just living his life.
You have to use little pikmario to find pieces of the now damaged re enlarging mechanism lost all over Mario's insides.

While developing Artful Escape, our 3D artist Mikey, made an oven asset. It was a nice oven - the work of a true pro. He even put the knobs on. And that’s who we are at Beethoven & Dinosaur. We put the knobs on. Mixtape is almost complete, we’re just putting the knobs on. See you in 2026.

Using Midi/analog sliders as part of your workflow is a HUGE improvement over using your mouse on sliders. I used a Midi board for all of the lighting I did on Keeper to adjust intensity, color, falloff, size, and more.
Bonus post to end the week: If you are a graphics programmer do yourself a favor and get a MIDI board. It makes the work way more tactile and fun. Full props to Matt and @aaronmjacobs.com for getting me on the MIDI train. :)

I think of Angeline Era's character art as "gestural" vertex colors: big blocks of gradients and hard edges that loosely gesture at finer details. They are often seen very small on the screen, so it helps them not appear over-detailed. But I also think it looks beautiful up close!

Pilot had a massive ad spread in a jp newspaper with "make AI jealous" and "write what AI can't touch" written on it

Anyway I think everyone should own a Pilot kakuno pen

When an actual BBC archive clip could be put into an episode of 'Look Around You' with zero edits.

The earnestness of this is of the charts, has real sports manga vibes.
This has the makings of a fantastic game, the energy, the framing, the language used there is only good and if someone made this story into a game with all respect and earnestness to the people in this documentary you got gold. #gamedev

Tech art friends! I need to subtract the animation root position from the object position in an Unreal 5 shader to avoid the positional jitter you see in the attached GIF

Does anyone know I can access this information in a material? Maybe as a Vector 3 from a Blueprint or similar?

okay, update: i have had this question answered, and I am now looking to speak to game QA testers ON the record about the weirdest, silliest-sounding things they've had to do to make sure games work. the wackier the better. happy to keep folks anon if they prefer. DMs open, email/Signal in bio
would anyone who works in or adjacent to game testing/QA be willing to answer a couple questions for me? off the record, not to be quoted - just need some background info on automations to know whether a scenario someone described in a talk is common or unusual.

Is The Seance of Blake Manor just spooky scary or gorey scary?
Just skeletons and ghouls or pentagrams carved in chests?

Checking before I play it with a 5 year old.
