We finally have randomized, controlled clinical trial results from ambient AI scribes. But what do these RCTs actually tell us?

Look at the below chart. Time savings are often low, but doctors give the technology rave reviews, esp in anecdotes that people tend to believe more than data 👀 🧵

One theory I have is that there has been a deliberate push toward making journalism synonymous with opinion and commentary, which in part has been accelerated with the knowledge that this could massively undermine what the BBC purports to be
The BBC (in name of 'impartiality') has entered some post-post-truth hall of mirrors, in which it holds the Labour Chancellor to some epistemological standard so high, that nobody can understand what the hell it actually means
Chris Mason sounds utterly absurd, trying to turn the screws on Rachel Reeves while acknowledging that she has done nothing that one wouldn't expect a politician to do.

Fun fact: The Nightmare Sequence was mentioned in The Conversation’s Best Books Of 2025, thanks to Jen Webb. Another fun fact: this is my first book released in Aus, UK, and the US in the same year and so far it’s gotten zero reviews in mainstream papers and outlets.

Doing some RA work on the side in the primary school education/trauma space and... like, I know this isn't a novel observation per se, but every single interview I conduct adds another layer to my general belief that schools are genuinely one of our most bizarre social systems.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
