I like walkable communities and safe streets for everyone. We can have nice things!

Hi I’m Dana. Former Project Manager now SAHM. I believe walkable & bike friendly communities aren’t just for cities. I find joy in the minutiae of municipal government because we can have nice things. My hobbies include riding bikes, walks in the park with my family, and reading comp plans.

I feel like everyone missed this part.
the most important thing to understand about the Ring Cam ad that says they help find dogs is: we are all dogs
! @weratedogs.com com goes beyond what you've already heard about the Ring Cam ads and includes excellent reporting about ICE and, less surprisingly, about finding lost dogs

In practical terms, this suggests that children who cycle regularly report feeling more positive, relaxed, confident and connected — all key components of good mental health.

Here we are on Day 38/365/2026 and 43 people have died on New Jersey roads, 16 of them were pedestrians.

Not one of them was killed by an eBike.

Do you see what the problem is?

The striking thing is that this is the first time in a generation kids have had freedom to roam and what do we do? Legislate them right back into the house. There has to be a better way to keep them safe & let them have some freedom as well. Maybe a moped license and learn to ride course is the way.
“do these people’s parents know they’re giving their 14-year-old kid a bike that can go over 50 km/h?”
^ How is it that this kid quoted in the last line of this article has the smartest thing to say about e-bikes?

Sabrina Carpenter being on The Muppet Show makes perfect sense. I think she’s basically a muppet to begin with. Like in the field of contemporary celebs she’s gotta be in like, the top ten of obvious muppets masquerading as people.

Imagine if NJ police departments put as much effort into enforcing or publicizing any other safety violation as they are the new e-bike law. Even if e-bikes are registered and insured and the riders are licensed they’re still going to be run over and killed by distracted drivers.
