I'm doing my annual cull of emails and found this. Remember when Danielle Smith thought she could pardon Coutts blockaders and pandemic restriction scofflaws? I filed a FOIP to see if Alberta Justice had been asked to consider that bizarre belief. 1

When police and school officials tried to stop two French teachers from instructing children at a school in Ottawa in January 1916, they were met by 70 women armed with hatpins and frying pans.
This is the story of the Battle of the Hatpins and les gardiennes de Guigues.

Now, on top of that, Israel is taking steps to stop MSF and other NGOs from working in Gaza entirely, and international supplies and staff have been denied entry.

This prevents organizations from providing services and is in breach of Israel's obligations under International Humanitarian Law.

The City of Vancouver continues to provide real-time text updates about council meetings exclusively on a website that produces mass amounts of deepfake non-consensual sexualized images of minors
This is harm. Time for serious people to get serious about it.

So, if you have a page you’ve left up and don’t want them there’s time to act 1/

"It's a public safety emergency."

We're seeing a public safety emergency play out right now and what that looks like.

Where are the emergency restrictions? The expedited infrastructure projects? The rapid, targeted, adapted solutions? The regular updates, info sharing, accountability?
In partnership with @calgarypolice.bsky.social, we are asking our community to do their part to keep each other safe on the road. Slow down, be patient and courteous, and stay focused.

This isn’t just data — it’s a public safety emergency.

NEW: A podcaster accused of harassing a former AHS director said he was hired by an Edmonton lawyer, court docs show. That lawyer has ties to Sam Mraiche, who owns companies at the centre of Alberta's procurement controversy.
