Folks complain all the time about the millionaires and billionaires in politics, but this is, quite literally, the central pillar of any solution to that problem.
ryan is right. people HATE hearing this. but it is just a matter of simple incentives. if you want a more representative legislature — and if you want a legislature more resistant to corruption — then you need to jack up the salaries. serving as mayor of NYC should net you a cool 500K *at least*
people hate hearing this but it's 100% true, creating a huge pay gap between political leaders, their staffs, and other elites is a recipe for corruption. of course the flip side of that is taxes on the rich should be jacked way the hell up

This is legit one of the best shows on TV today, especially if you are looking for a soul cleanse. Watch all the seasons from the beginning. I always loved the earlier episodes where he ended the show with a call to his parents. Truly heartwarming, and funny too.

This has been around before but I just saw it again.
The fact that current conservatives, and some in the opposition, are attacking him shows they do not actually care about what is/who has the best policies to move forward and grow our country so that long term we all benefit.

World Central Kitchen was founded in 2011 by Jose Andres to help Haiti post-earthquake, Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, then Ukraine. They set up a kitchen in Gaza but 6 cooks were killed by Israeli army, forcing WCK to leave.
Now they are in Jamaica.
