This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

A very significant vote. The $75 billion can be taken away; this marks a clear vote by the Democratic caucus to do so.
👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

I think about this post at least once a week
the speed at which these guys have broken everything has given a lot of folks who should know better the impression that they are an unstoppable force and the only option is to negotiate the terms of surrender

just because the clown car goes very fast does not mean it isn’t full of clowns
Whatever the immediate fallout of the scandal, what is going to stick around is the impression it gives, of hapless idiots doing ridiculous things. And I think that seriously reduces the appeal of capitulating to these jokers.

So, incredibly, the White House has chosen to escalate in blue Minnesota and retreat in Maine to protect a vulnerable GOP Senator.

It's confirmation that Trump-Vance-Miller view ICE as a partisan govt-backed militia to attack blue America while propping up their regime. 1/

Law enforcement officers have always been unmasked in this country until ICE started wearing them last year.

*That* is the departure from norms. *That* is the step too far.
Tillis says he opposes ICE being barred from wearing masks: "I've seen people dox me. I've seen people take pictures and identify law enforcement officers and then put their families at risk. So, I think that's a step too far."

ICE agent barges into a consulate in Minneapolis (against U.S. treaty obligations) and when confronted says “If you touch me, I’ll grab you.”

This is a big part of what Congress must rein in: the agency’s sense of entitlement and unlimited power, coupled with its pursuit of physical escalation.

This is unconscionable.

Kristi Noem's DHS standing by 'domestic terrorism' label for Alex Pretti.

I have to wonder if it's because they've officially entered him into the NSPM-7 system as such.

This explains the connection: www.justsecurity.org/129797/alex-...
FOX NEWS: Are you standing by calling Pretti a domestic terrorist?

Pretty sure that's more or less what Thomas Jefferson said in his letter to Williams Stevens Smith.

You know, the letter about how the people have an equal obligation not to rise up against tyranny as tyranny has not to be tyrannical....
From NYT opinion 1/26
"There is an urgent need for the federal agents deployed to the city to step back and take a breath before more Americans are hurt or killed. Those protesting the Trump administration have an equal obligation to avoid violence."

No. the obligation is not equal.

Alex Pretti's gun is like Renee Good's car: irrelevant to the central fact that they were murdered by ICE. ICE wants us to debate whether Pretti should have been carrying because that avoids the central fact. Pro-carry, anti-carry--that has as much to do w/ his murder as his fashion choices. Zero.
