Hi hello howdy #portfolioday
I've worked in editorial, publishing, advertising, video games, studio production, animation and TTRPGs. Lately it's been mostly book projects and cards. I like drawing everything, but especially light 🌥️

Some of the sketches. Typically with clients I do a "pasta at the wall" round, especially when we aren't quite 100% on direction, then once we have a firmer direction I provide color alternates and more refinement of silhouettes/expression.

New cover for Lora Beth Johnson's "HELL TO PAY." What a fun Greek mythology inspired book about a heist in the underworld. Thank you to AD Kristie for having me on!

I’m replaying the Witcher 3 and which absolute troll at Projekt Red made the executive decision to set the quest NPC running speed for people you have to follow faster than Geralt’s walk but slower than his run. Whomst.

I've been filing my taxes for years with HR Block but this past month I had to file my 2024 state taxes (CA got an extension due to the fires) and...this company is just 3 AI raccoons in a trench coat now, isn't it?

We recently asked our landlord to stop paying for landscapers to save a couple $$ and also because landscaper philosophy seems to be “cut every living thing within an inch of its fucking life.” After pruning Mexican sage by hand for an hour and a half I almost regret that decision. …Almost.

I have so many questions for the 5,878 people who voted for Eric Adams. Like...why? and ... did you just wake up from a three year coma?

I have eaten enough sugar in Hawaii to kill a small child. I feel amazing. Surely I will never come down from this high.

Planning to do my sketches for a surreal project the day after a surgery when I knew I'd be zooted into outerspace on painkillers has been some of the most savvy calendaring I've ever done.

I got my surgery and slept for 12 hours and y’all, I am so grateful to have that tooth removed it has been a thorn in my side for FIFTEEN YEARS, just a cascade of problems and failed root canals and broken and then failed crown and then a finally now jaw abscess. Goodbye you little devil.

If you know me well, you know the Golden Age illustrators are among the most foundational of my influences, and of these, Edmund Dulac is perhaps among the top three strongest. One of my artistic heroes for all time. 🥲💙

Happy birthday, Edmund Dulac!
🎉Happy Birthday to Edmund Dulac, who was born on this day 1882!

A favorite of the Golden Age of Illustration, Dulac was one of the few artists with technical skill to rival the likes of Arthur Rackham and Beatrix Potter. His twilight soaked imagery is dreamlike and otherworldly.🧵

I have been tasked with drinking as much water as possible ahead of my dental surgery because of my 00 sized veins and I am not cut out for this lifestyle.

DESTROYING ANGEL (1982)
Acrylic on Canvas - 34” x 24”

All of the concepts I submitted for the 1982 Year’s Best Horror Stories cover were strong. If I had tried to guess which one would be chosen, the concept that became this painting would have been my last guess. 1/5
