If you're in #PTBO, in addition to the indomitable @joellekovach.bsky.social, the @arthurnews.bsky.social also covers city council meetings here. As a student journalist, I always preached that city council *is* student news because it's day-to-day services. Love seeing Arthur living that truth!
We've just adjourned this mini-Council meeting, and are now returning to the regular meeting schedule, where we'll get to discuss the four Integrity Commissioner reports that came out last week

Ontario's decision on cargo e-bikes was supposed to be made this year, not it's being delayed to 2031. Somehow they didn't get enough data during their five-year pilot program? Sounds fishy.

For those who actually care about evidence-based city-making, there’s a ton of evidence that decongestion pricing has been a massive success in New York City, by every measure of success, and many ways that can’t be measured.
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.
