Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

RULE VOTE FAILS, 217-214.

Three Republicans- Thomas Massie, Kevin Kiley, and Don Bacon - buck the party to allow floor consideration of measures to end Trump's tariffs.

The first such measure, likely on Canada tariffs, could come up as soon as tomorrow
Republicans have been holding this vote open for 40 minutes or so, but the holdouts- Massie, Kiley, Bacon, reportedly left the Capitol. The absent Republican is Greg Murphy (R-NC), who has missed a lot of time since a mid December surgery.

Not clear why Johnson is still holding this vote open

NEW: The Trump administration’s push for mass deportations has resulted in more than 18,000 challenges in federal court from immigrants claiming their detention is illegal.

We are tracking the increase in these cases 👇

OK, first, the criminal record of a drug cartel is a bit better established than a random Minneapolis resident.

Second, not only has this DVD scenario never occurred with ICE — and I’m a broken record here! — there’s no record of any agent being doxed and attacked.

It's funny to me to hear Republicans whine about being called racist when their party does shit like this.

They aren't beating the allegations:
Civil rights activist Medgar Evers was shot in the back by a Klansman in 1963.

The National Park Service has removed visitor brochures from Evers' museum and reportedly plans to remove references that call his murderer a “racist"
Medgar Evers’ killer was a Klansman, but Trump administration says stop calling him a racist - Mississippi Today
Among anticipated changes to a new visitor brochure for the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument is no longer using "racist" to describe the killer of the civil rights leader.

100%. But it's so hard for courts to deal with this kind of scope. The court of appeals struck down the TRO that said "stop doing unconstitutional stuff" because it was just an order to follow the law. But similarly, it would be hard for the court to say "shut down the entire operation" because /
The only response here is a motion to enjoin the whole operation

If the government's position is "I'm sorry your honor but we don't be the capacity to both respect constitutional rights and conduct the operation as it is currently being conducted" the answer is "then you must stop the operation"
