this is the first time it’s been called for since the 1940s

It’s been reported locally, but I’m not sure how much national notice this has gotten. As part of this invasion by shithead goons, they are putting ICE agents in jetbridges and other parts of the airport at Minneapolis-Saint Paul. If you are flying Delta via MSP, you are putting yourself at risk.

Dear neighbor,

We don’t know when this ICE occupation is going to end. Our neighbors are not sheltering in place because they are struggling to pay for rent, bills, and groceries. While the community has been meeting the moment, it’s time for the government to step in and help. 1/

ICE just indiscriminately stopped a citizen at a bus stop in front of the co-op. If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our City.

Any Democratic votes to fund DHS later this month as Minneapolis is being terrorized by DHS is going to be a major slap in the face to Americans living here. Demand major reforms or shut the government down.

Evict ICE, not us.

Allowing our neighbors to be evicted because ICE has made it impossible for them to pay rent is unacceptable. Minneapolis needs an immediate eviction moratorium to keep people in their homes.

ACTION ⬇️

We have heard from Minneapolis City Council staff that council members are working on this, but they will need a veto-proof majority and/or support from @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social.

Make sure your council member and the Mayor hear from you.

I very much understand that officials need to try to keep peace.
But a large portion of my friends spend their days watching pick up/drop off of their local schools as the only bulwark against armed thugs on our streets. You HAVE to have a better plan than tell people to remain calm.
Trump sent thousands of armed federal officers into our state, and it took just one day for them to kill someone.

Now he wants nothing more than to see chaos distract from that horrific action.

Don’t give him what he wants.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building.

Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained.

The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

Ellison: "State authorities can investigate anyway. We don't need their authority. It's at least arguable that there's a violation of MN statues here. All of them depend on an investigation though. And the federal govt can't stop MN from doing it's own, but I would hope it wouldn't come to that."

This situation is a good example of why shutting down the government is logical: Right now, the Trump administration is acting as if it has 100% control of all federal spending, Congress & previous decisions be damned. If that executive overreach isn't addressed, why pass a spending bill?

Dear Ds in CA, NJ and VA - please vote on Day 1, or as early as you. When you vote early your names comes off GOTV rolls for the campaigns allowing them to move on to lower propensity voters, which increases D turnout and makes it more likely we win. Voting early = another way to help us win.
