A mid-week holiday with the dog at outdoor school meant I could write all day. Flow state achieved! 3,800 words, mostly revision, so about 30 pages. I’m going to finish this novel by the end if the month, so help me.

Your regular reminder that no matter how seemingly progressive your favorite business is, when it comes to worker power, the owners would often rather pull the plug than own a union shop. That's how deep seated anti-union bias is among the business class.
This is absolutely the case. I’ve seen a huge uptick in Buckman/Belmont. Fewer tents or “prepared” shelters but the very improvised beds of people who have had their previous shelter possessions taken or destroyed. You can’t end homelessness without homes.
In the week since Mayor Wilson began enforcing the public camping ban, we are seeing MORE tents in East Portland. Those folks are just being swept into my district.
I told the mayor that this is what would happen and asked him to bring extra resources to East PDX to meet the displaced. He did not.

A Polska kielbasa.
Onion, bell, pepper, garlic. Some chili powder, cumin, cayenne if you feel like it.
Prep M&C per box.
Caramelize onions, set aside. Sauté the kielbasa with peppers. Add spices, garlic 2 min b4 done, stir in onions. Serve over M&C.
