Grand juries are a huge part of “we keep us safe”.

Demand jury trials. Get on juries. Stand up for your community against unfair prosecution.
DC grand juries continue to have no time for the DOJ. They refused to indict the Dem lawmakers for reminding service members they are not legally obligated to follow unlawful orders.

WE NEED YOUR HELP❗️It’s February 10, 2026, & rent is past due. I’m working with 7 different families who have been impacted by ICE & are now struggling to pay rent. I’m hoping to raise $6,082 to help pay the month of February rent for all of them.

I reported on the MN woman who lost her Global Entry status as a result of legally observing ICE/CBP in suburban Minneapolis. (several days before the NYT did - AHEM)

I spoke to another woman who had a similar thing happen today.

More coming in tomorrow's newsletter.
I talked with the Minnesota legal observer whose Global Entry status’s was revoked three days after a confrontation with a CBP agent. Here’s what she wants you to know.

Actually would have guessed it was more in Hardens favor. Seems like his teams are always a thorn in the side of the Nuggets

The “pandering to the right merely pisses off the left and doesn’t pull in any support from the right” train is never late.

“7) This has massively alienated the left of the party without persuading the right”
Short version:
(1) He became leader because the party wanted someone electable and apparently moderate after Jeremy Corbyn
(2) Ran on a fairly centrist or even quite conservative platform, particularly with respect to immigration and trans rights
(3) He won a huge majority with only 30% of the vote

Not as good as the crypto commercial with Matt Damon
I’ve counted four AI commercials in the first half.

Anyone else keeping track?

I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.

Lying and cheating works in the short run, but in the long run the costs of losing trust become very high. (See also, US foreign policy). The problem is that the costs are long term, and will be borne by people beyond the Trump administration.
Federal judge: "The presumption of regularity that has previously extended to [the United States Government] that it could be taken at its word—with little doubt about its intentions and stated purposes—no longer holds."

This is in a case where the Trump admin sued Oregon.

For two years, I've been investigating claims that Texas A&M University has been overtaken by the forces of gay race communism. The truth is a little more complicated: www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...
What’s the Matter With Texas A&M?
Five presidents in five years. Firings of “woke” professors. Crackdowns on Plato. Inside state leaders’ efforts to remake a great university.

When organizing, I immediately knew when a normie liberal was going to be useless. When they said: “We need to get the message out…”

Might be very smart. Kind. Fun to hang out with. And their hearts were always in the right place. But yeesh. Their theory of change was straight up “debate club.”
At the same time there simply is no mechanism to persuade these people quickly when they're having their normie assumptions reinforced by their followers online. For a normie to begin to grasp that "messaging" is not of most importance and security matters is like such a massive mental update.

Darius is only 26? Seems like that dude has been injured for like a decade.
Harden and the Clippers worked through his exit over the last few days -- resulting in a beneficial outcome for the sides: A win-now opportunity for Harden playing at a high level at 36 and recent two-time All-Star in Garland at 26 for the Clippers present and future.

I like to think of the Chicago Bulls as a performance art installment that sometimes takes the shape of a basketball team.
So the Bulls are set to employ all of

Josh Giddey
Coby White
Tre Jones
Ayo Dosunmu
Jaden Ivey
Anfernee Simons
Mike Conley

Gonna be an interesting 48 hours to see how that changes

Also a fun little side story, the Kevin Love trade tree for the Wolves is now complete. Over about 12 years the Wolves transactions went: Kevin Love → Andrew Wiggins → D'Angelo Russell → Mike Conley → cash considerations
Stinks it ended this way, but Mike was one of the most impactful acquisitions in Timberwolves history. Was unbelievably important to making the playoffs in 2023 and making the West Finals in 2024.

Also just one of the best guys I covered in my couple years of covering the team
Just in: Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.
