I released my Paramount War Magic Set a while ago, but now here it is in a much more usable form! It's a draftable set based on One Piece's Paramount War arc originally made when such an idea was laughable.

the designers of rock paper scissors in early design meetings:

"okay everything should have a strength and a weakness. so like obviously rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper, and uhhh we're gonna change this later but for now just say paper beats rock. until we think of something else idk"

the thing is it's not that threads has weirdly low public salience; it's that Twitter has vastly outsized public salience because early in its life it got institutionally baked into so many media institutions and systems
Threads passes Twitter

A) I desperately need an icon for myself that actually looks how I do now.

B) Come see me play the role I was born to play: Nate's right Foot.
Tonight on Sleepover Sunday, Sam and Andrew put their marriage to the ultimate test: Playing Baby Steps where each of them controls a different foot.

Join them as they put one foot in front of the other. Again. And again. And again.

this particular inclination — that one must always be Condemning, otherwise one is Endorsing — is dubious but plausible when talking about institutions but patently ridiculous when applied to someone's social media posts. We've learned the hard way that social media is real life but also: Chill out!

Not sure how bad the deepfake problem is? Read Stella's farewell thread.

This is an extreme form of remote sexual harassment that can now be used to target anyone, regardless of platform, in seconds. Despite news stories focusing mostly on CSAM it's still unchecked and rampant on Twitter.
I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.

I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

Very important signal here. You can say it's abt oil. And part of it is. But the White House is actually being forced to strongarm the oil companies to get involved. www.politico.com/news/2026/01...
Trump admin sends tough private message to oil companies on Venezuela
The White House has told companies they must rebuild Venezuela's crude-pumping infrastructure if they want compensation for assets seized by Caracas.

I'm going to be as polite as I can about this and I'm not calling out anyone in particular, but you don't have to announce that you're disengaging from this to go watch anime or play video games or go back to bed. You can just do that. Announcing it in a cute way feels flippant at best.

It’s absolutely crazy how awful X, or Twitter, is now. The Grok stuff is just the tip of the iceberg. I went over there for five minutes to do my banking and it was absolutely appalling.

wild to me that journalists got so scared of being called “liberal media” that they spent my entire adult life dismantling their own industry, reputation, and personal moral compasses. now journalism is an explicit arm of corporate fascism and they’re STILL scared of “having lefty bias” accusations.

Bible 2
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
