The future of Red America: stuck in near indentured service, you can't pay for the treatment to cure your daughter but manage to scrunge up just enough to take her to the closest privately run national Park for a final hurrah. Tears roll down your face as you say you're so lucky to be an American.
Why does the media keep running these headlines?
Occam's razor: because they like him and want to help him.
This entire article points out that there is no plan. His own Treasury Secretary says he doesn’t know anything about it. So why does media keep running these kind of headlines? He keeps making these Truth Social posts and media keeps running stories as if it is something real.

Kids::6-7
Geezers::alpha
A subtle one that's easy to miss, but the fact that Andreesen and Musk both use "alpha" as slang for "information advantage" is a clear tell that their mental world is finance, not technology. They try to talk otherwise but they are investors not inventors.
*maximum alpha at 1.25x speed* continuously lives on in my head, unfortunately.

Yes the 7 Dem traitors have negotiated a massive and awful reform to the ACA.
Dismantling ACA isn’t about punishing insurance cos. The subsidies Dems were haggling for are tax credits. That’s our money. Not theirs. They’re talking about health savings as pre-tax dollars like your 401k. This is deregulation. Letting insurance cos resume denying coverage and selling junk plans.

Business activity downtown Chicago has fallen down by double digits since Trump sent the goon squads.
His solution is to send more goon squads.

Ukraine's electric grid has been struggling to recover from Russian attacks for days.
Last night, Russia sent over 100 drones.
US media has lost interest since Trump told them WONTFIX.

The Americans are coming.

President Donald Trump's administration may have steered clear of this year's UN climate summit in the Brazilian Amazon, but the conference's second day on Tuesday is nonetheless set to be dominated by the governors of California and New Mexico

So we make a deal that allows several Republican senators in key states to vote for ACA subsidies next month and get political cover back home, but not enough to pass it. Sounds great.

People who stayed home instead of voting for the climate candidate taught politicians voters don't care about it.

Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

Absolutely.

The far right took over the GOP through the long process of taking over local and county organizations and the left can do the same. It’s not an instant fix but it actually works.
Join your county Democratic Party! There are shockingly few people willing to show up and those are the people who get to make decisions

Schumer's a coward. Shaheen & co. soiled themselves. Yes, yes to all of it. But why don't Murkowski, Tillis, & company even get asked questions? Why do we have zero expectation of them? Journalists don't even bother trying. We have accepted Murc's Law as a constitutional provision. It's maddening.
These 5 people could caucus with the Democrats, giving them a majority & firmly opposing the fascism, any time. It might be nice for an enterprising journalist to ask them why they keep not doing this every day as the crimes & corruption continue & John Thune refuses to fulfill his oath of office.

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

I shouldn't be shocked but I am: the legacy media just doesn't give a fuck about people's lives being upended by Republicans taking away health insurance from Americans (+~$25k is taking it away). I don't see these stories in the press, all we get is hallway gossip from access "journalism."
