My good friend Roxie, who's turning 18 next month. She loves her heating pad and yowling like mad. She lives with my good friends, but we were roommates many years ago, along with her brother Rex (RIP)

After that Jurassic Park ad, I think it's time we put de-aging technology out of its misery. Holy cow.

Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

The draconian cuts at the Washington Post could be called committing suicide by a once-great journalism institution that deserved trust and respect. But I think it should be seen as the owner of the Washington Post committing murder in service to Donald J. Trump.

"How do you have patience for people who claim they love America, but clearly can't stand Americans?"

- Sydney Ellen Wade, THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT

It's a fantasy movie in many ways, about competence, intelligence, and goodness, depicting a White House myth that I can't believe in anymore...

Spent my afternoon revising a script from last year. I'm doing a pass on just the descriptions, incorporating style ideas I've gleaned from reading THE MARTIAN and CONAN.

This script is a very good idea, but is overwritten. Last time I worked on it, I was concussed by work. It hurts to look...

Great time at SEND HELP! A lady next to me struck up a convo after. She and her grandson had a great time. He had just read Lord of the Flies in his 8th grade class and appreciated the references. The 👀 gouge was "a little gory" for grandma, but she loved it.

Heading out to see SEND HELP. It's a packed theater. And, personally, I'm in the mood to see management tortured, so should be fun!

In case this truly happens, I want to document that two days ago I was in a Starbucks and a guy struck up a conversation with me about the things he uses AI for and I said, "I'm very against it. I think it's all a big bubble and it's about to burst."
For those of you not playing along with the home game, half of the US economy in 2025 was AI investment and the building of data centers. All the big companies are investing in each other to make it look like infinite growth and everyone has been waiting for one company to blink. When that all stops

Schumer's entire political identity is to defend the status quo, not matter what that status quo is. The only solution possible in his mind is to tweak the status quo. Because, in his mind, the current situation is always better than change. It's pathetic.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

I finished a series of drafts on a feature script on Monday and sent it to my co-creator and a member of the screenwriting community for notes. It's been four months of work and I'm rewarding myself this morning by reading THE MARTIAN script before work. It's so brisk and sparse compared to...

This is fun because I have a lifelong fear of nuclear accidents/wars since I grew up during the Cold War in a town with a nuclear research laboratory (hello LLNL!) and you know these jerks used "AI" to "write" their new "regulations." Which is a lot of scare quotes but appropriate at this time.
Me, waking up in -8 degree weather: what fresh horrors does today hold?

Make them famous so I can do what? Buy them a beer and pat them on the back?

These orange cultist dudes are so weird.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

They're supposed to be the opposition! They should try, you know, opposing things!
The learned and practiced helplessness of Democratic leaders is going to get us all killed.
Q: Are you willing to use every lever of power including a government shutdown to stop what's happening here?

KLOBUCHAR: Right now we're focused on getting ICE out of the state. Of course we will use every lever, but I do remind people that Trump runs the WH and sadly also seems to run Congress
