The heads of Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Tesla all joined Trump at his inauguration.

Since then, largely thanks to Trump's Big Ugly Bill, their companies have reaped $51B in federal tax breaks — paid for by huge cuts to our social safety net.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

Hell of a flex for your tenure file.

If the current moment has taught us anything, it is about the uselessness of libertarianism.
The image sums it up perfectly. The Gadsden flag was all out during the Obama era. How often do you see it now? Most of the principled libertarians were happy to trad their principles for Trumpism.

Racial categories emerged during the slave trade and colonization to restrict the agency of some groups relative to others. Limiting freedom is the point, and that’s still a big part of what racial categories are designed to do.
Same people who profess to believe racism isn't really a freedom issue love throwing around analogies to slavery when talking about taxation or any vaguely distributive government policy

Kinda love that Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III of the Seahawks, MLB All-Star Hunter Goodman of the Rockies, & indie standout Julien Baker of boygenius went to the same public high school on the upper-east edge of Memphis/ Shelby County, Tennessee, near the Tipton/ Fayette border.

It's funny that this happened and people who stayed on Vichy Twitter still deny the idea that he might have changed the algorithm before the election to help Trump

- Directly responsible for the murder of US citizens by masked agents of the state
- Openly looting the treasury and taking bribes from foreign leaders
