No bastard ever won a war by dying for his multicultural economic zone. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his autarkic ethnostate.
“You’re gonna die for a ‘multicultural economic zone?’”

“Someone is.”
Also, here’s a photo of people dying to defend a “multicultural economic zone”

Yesterday was the birthday of my granddaddy, Roy Clay Turner; he passed away last April, but he would have been 96 years old on Valentine’s Day. As a tribute I wore his cap — a Memphis Wholesale Plumbing Supply classic — while wandering around my Brooklyn neighborhood.

It’s darkly amazing to see people who lambasted progressives for both identity politics and for creating new language for ethnic, racial and gender identities to now go full in in this very thing by trying to be mask white nationalism behind a new term.

A thing non-curlers used to find charming about curling is that the athletes looked like flabby high school math teachers; this Olympics the youth movement worldwide is obvious. Teams are full of 24 year olds who look like boxers.

That youth is producing a *ton* of inconsistent play.
If they get to the medal round or even take one home, it will be impossible to criticize them. It would be only the 3rd curling medal ever for USA Men. But actually watching them play, you wonder how they're pulling off wins with some of these errors.

This quote by Thomas Massie will stick: "This is the Epstein administration."
Massie on ABC just now: “Donald Trump told us that even though he had dinner with these people in NYC and West Palm Beach, that he would be transparent. But he’s not. He’s still in with the Epstein class. This is the Epstein administration.”

@juddlegum.bsky.social lays out three things to watch as prediction markets become a part of the media landscape: manipulation, insider information, and a flattened news cycle on-the-media.visitlink.me/Clcu34
On the Media
The Peabody Award-winning On the Media podcast is your guide to examining how the media sausage is made. Hosts Brooke Gladstone and Micah Loewinger examine threats to free speech and government transparency, cast a skeptical eye on media coverage of the week’s big stories and unravel hidden political narratives in everything we read, watch and hear.

interesting to think that revolutionary era americans understood themselves as making a break with the “old world” and establishing a new civilization. and crucially, this new civilization rested on republican self-government, not “sovereignty.”
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Just going to point out again that our arbitrary political rules permit Republicans to attack urban areas with impunity but strictly forbid the faintest whiff of condescension toward rural areas by Democrats

It really is amazing how much of political punditry, *especially* elite outfits in NYC and Washington, still embrace this bizarre idea that rural spaces represent the "Real America" while metropolitan areas, where most (presumably real) Americans actually live, should be held in contempt.

I know Kevin knows this, but the explanation for this is clear: It's racism. Racism and xenophobia and misogyny.

A white native-born American, living in the parts of the country where white native-born men still hold disproportionate power, is the only fully "real" American in the eyes of many.

Measles is a bellwether. Because it’s the most contagious vaccine-preventable disease, when vaccination rates drop, it’s the first to start spreading.

Now we’ve got mumps rolling up.

Expect more.
