Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is breathtakingly gorgeous and cleverly constructed. Incredible work by the team and in my opinion - worthy of joining the modding pantheon with Arcane Dimensions

And it's free, you can go play a standalone version, even if you don't own Quake:

this is one of the problems with scheming viziers running the show, trump says, clearly, that it's about the oil, and to him, it might be; for rubio, it's something different, for hegseth, it's yet again something different. the insanity comes from trying to reconcile three competing thoughts
The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

Also, I want to fix it.

⚠️ Barely anyone would be free from targeting by this blatantly unconstitutional rule proposal!

Which is clearly the intention.
Collection of biometrics from anyone “associated” with a foreigner – Papers, Please!
Underlying the proposal is an implicit but impermissible assumption that merely to “associate” with foreigners is sufficiently suspicious to create probable cause for a search.

I think Trump since his first term has done a lot of damage to the pseudo-materialist worldview of vulgar Marxists who think of everything in terms of hardline economic incentives, tbh
Yeah, if there's one thing I wish I could press into the brains of every leftist commenting on this it's that "the US did this because it needs their oil" is a bad analysis in the structural incentives of the 2020s. Trump personally just thinks "blood for oil" sounds cool.
its incredible to read how the regime has to do a hard sell on the oil companies for this. president grandpas 1989 brain does it again. oil is 50 dollars a barrel and the infrastructure is degraded and the situation completely confused and politically volatile. oil ceos not exactly excited. amazing

whatever the real reason for this was by the smart guys, the stated reason for the addled moron in charge is oil. and that's darkly funny considering we don't need it

We talk about the US burning its soft power but if this goes on as Russia keeps it to thoughts and prayers, I wonder if Russian diplomatic ties are also in trouble now (not that it would be the first cracks of that edifice)
WELKER: Is the Cuban government the Trump administration's next target?

MARCO RUBIO: Well, the Cuban government is a huge problem. Yeah.

WELKER: Is that a yes?

RUBIO: I think they're in a lot of trouble, yes

Alas, Jesus Christ did not return to Earth in 2025. This might not come as particularly surprising or noteworthy to most people. But for a certain crowd of bettors, it was terrific news.

one of the dumbest parts of this is the idea that oil producers actually want their holdings in venezeula back, which they do not. it’s a war for oil no one really wants.

Feeling this one right now
The increasingly tempting alternative for politicians of both parties with sufficient strategic intelligence and insufficient moral principle will be to play the hand that Trump has dealt, and double down on a reduced sphere of influence and restricted economic niche, maybe with different marketing.
