Alberta is NOT MESSING about #UCP

A recall campaign is shaping up in #PremierSmith riding of Brooks-Medicine Hat.

51% of Albertans oppose her use of the clause, according to a new #Legerpoll and only 32% support her.

No recall papers have yet been filed against Smith with #ElectionsAlberta.

NEW: President Trump's pardon of his alleged 2020 co-conspirators was less about shielding them from past crimes, his adversaries say, than about signaling to others that he has their back if he needs them again in 2026 or 2028.

Two thoughts: I definitely wouldn't have taken this deal, but I don't think their concerns are unreasonable. And second, it's two months and I think if Johnson and Thune yank the football on the ACA vote, maybe some of the eight might take the lesson.

Schumer had exactly zero ability to stop this particular scenario and the fact that he kept them on side for 40 days is near miraculous.
the caucus gets how this is *worse* right? if you're just going around Schumer, what's the point of leadership

How confident are US importers in the holiday shopping season and beyond?

Let’s just say inbound container units are expected to be DOWN 14.4% this month — and 17.9% next month.

Reduction in Force. All people RIF'ed from October 1st to now need to be rehired, and no RIFs are allowed until the end of the CR.

The mechanism of enforcement is the Anti-deficiency act, which is real and has serious teeth, and the explicit nature of how it's spelled out is not nothing.
What is RIF language?

Yep. Now there is immense pressure on the House to reconvene (seating Grijalva and forcing the Epstein vote too)

And a month of Republicans trying to justify their healthcare cost increases.

There isn’t much more the minority party could have gotten, given the majority’s disdain for Americans.
Shaheen: "I think we can get a bipartisan bill out of the Senate that will address this [healthcare] issue. And if not, we know that the voters are going to know who's on their side and who's going to hold them accountable."

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

I asked Georgetown law prof David Super wtf is going on with this latest demand for states to claw back benefits already sent out.
He says the law doesn't allow for this, and if the USDA is mad that states already sent out SNAP money, too bad—they were following USDA's own guidance. Full comments:
