I only wrote about 100 comics in my so-called career, but now that I'm dying, I'm grateful that I got to do even that. Comics are such a wonderful medium, and they've always meant so much to me.

There’s some phenomenal advice for all folks in this thread, but the biggest advice I want to add is this: unless you have a big problem with your life that marriage solves, don’t ever get married.
I love how many of the comments are the simple advice to not change your last name. It’s now so evident How much life-long danage it does.

Tried to get my real ID. I had my license, my SS card and my birth certificate.

Love to Nate, but IDW, Image, and other companies use SLIGHTLY different trim sizes and call it “industry standard”: artists and letterers might be more standard than the companies! Production will usually just resize the art (we’re talking with 1/32–1/16th an in.)
Artists working in mainstream USA comics: Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, etc. all expect art to these dimensions. I'm seeing more and more disregard for the standard specs, and it affects everyone's deadlines to have production try and wrestle your art into proper proportions.
