Josh Woodward sounds like he just found himself inside a tire shop without having put even an ounce of thought into what he was doing there. Suddenly coming to consciousness in a Burger King and having to ask my AI assistant if I'm hungry.
Every example of ai being useful begins with "okay imagine you're in a situation, and you are very dumb"

Minneapolis Is in Mourning. It’s Also Very, Very Pissed Off

In the hours after an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, the city came together — and found a difficult balance of grief and rage.

Great question!

It’s not just about whether or not the gyre is widening – its that the falcon cannot hear the Falconer. In today’s blood-dimmed world, it’s a game-changer that many don’t consider.

The kicker? A beast that is rough, slouching, and born.

Last week, I drove to Minneapolis to spend a few days reporting on the aftermath of Renee Nicole Good's murder for Rolling Stone. What I saw was a city forced to grieve a horrible loss while simultaneously strategizing to protect itself from the ICE reinforcements to come.

quick rule of thumb for this website but really any social media website is if a user has over 1000 posts and less than 100 followers they are probably some kind of unwell.

Why does it sometimes feel that every email I get at work is coming from someone who has just stepped fully formed out of some kind of chrysalis and has no idea how anything works, and especially if this is a person who has ostensibly been working with us for years.

So I wrote a 26,000 word, three-chapter fanfic about Kirol and Lluwen from Lorwyn: Eclipsed except they're in north Georgia in the 1980s. They do kiss, I promise.

I find it very lovely that the LGBTQ+ section at my local romance bookstore often feels bare, but not because they don’t stock them. They sell out of titles so fast that they can’t keep the shelves full. And that’s not even including the queer books that fit into other sections.

When I started working in disability services, one of my coworkers explained to me that I had to understand that disabled people could in fact be assholes. Understanding that someone can independently be an asshole regardless of their disability helps keep yourself from burning out fast.
I keep coming back to the fact that one of the weirder facets of of ableism, transphobia, &c. is acting like members of marginalized communities can't also and independently be assholes.

Okay, I think I like the Blue Jays, the Twins, and the Mariners, which I understand are very popular. I've grown up and lived in and around Atlanta, so supporting the Braves is out of the question. I might check out a local minor league team, though. They don't carry the sins of their father.
What's a really good baseball team for a beginner? I think I want to get into baseball this year. Is there like a wiki I can check out?

truly shocked that some people thought there was ever a chance of making this place non-toxic. did you not hang out on Twitter prior to Musk? this kind of platform is fundamentally poisoned, as is all social media and nearly every kind of online community

Today's writing experience is like trying to shove a block of cheese through a mesh strainer. Yeah, like, it's working, but I can't help feel like there's got to be a better way.

Kind of disheartening to see someone asking for reading recommendations to get into Magic story just to see almost every single reply suggesting YouTube channels and podcasts that recap story beats. I make one of those podcasts and I still think you should just read the story yourself.
