Writer, content-marketer and film-maker. I run a writing group in London, and I do a bunch of local arts stuff. He/him.
I hope WWE shows AEW how much they fumbled and put Jericho in a long feud with CM Punk for Wrestlemania, maybe even through to Survivor Series.

Yeah honestly if the person concerned didn't feel bad about doing it, we shouldn't feel bad about remembering it.
I think we're past worries about speaking ill of the dead. If someone decided their bigoted views were an important part of their public persona, fuck their legacy and fuck respect.

A clip of Keira Knightley's commentary for Pirates of the Caribbean turned up in my feed, and holy shit, she sounds like a kid. For good reason, obviously, but it's weird.

It feels really weird that they cast Keira Knightley for that at 17. And Love Actually the same year. I can't think of many 17-year-old boys that have been cast as romantic leads in adult roles.

Julie K. Brown is a reporter for the Miami Herald who did groundbreaking work on Epstein beginning in 2018, including groundbreaking work on the disgusting coverup by Alex Acosta.

Her travel itinerary was released with some of the Epstein files. It appears the DOJ was monitoring her in 2019.

This reads like a warning from the future.
Thinking about how moving away from people-first is a growing trend, and how this is something quite important. It's been on my mind since my local McDonald's refurbished, and there's a reason for that.

Girl on the Net continues to be awesome - for me, the thing that stands out here is that she's working so hard, and managing to increase her commissioning rates. Inspiring stuff.
EPIC 2025 round-up, a year of truly astonishing guest contributions. I will never be able to do justice to the awesome people who share them. But I've tried.

I saw a clip about Midnight in Paris, explaining that Owen Wilson learns to give up on shallow interests and appearance and go after something that's more about a real connection, meeting... Lea Seydoux, which seems at odds with the point being made.

Defensive design can be many things, but welcoming isn't one of them...
You're not encouraged to stay. Quite the opposite - you're made to feel in the way. It's also gone with the beige muted colours and doesn't feel welcoming in any way. It's not people-first.

At risk of being achingly on-brand, I think the solution here is:
a) Build more of everything - more commercial properties = lower rents = more third spaces.
b) Densify cities so town centres with third spaces are more viable
c) Relax opening hours laws - Britain's cities should be 24 hour cities

Obviously this is talking about more serious things but this speaks to something bothering me, that despite this meant to be the era of the brand, companies have massively watered down their unique personalities in a way that undermines customer affection/loyalty

will also add - yes, this is my personal crusade - that turning podcasts into videos implicitly asks women to once again make more effort than men, as the bar for "camera-ready" for one gender is obviously higher than for the other

My clumsy armchair sociology is that lockdown and the associated networks of conspiracy theories and radicalising groups absolutely fucked what's left of the social contract - when people saw doing the bare minimum to protect others in a pandemic as an attack on their person, then you can hardly...
I have a theory that the spread of fascism in the UK is almost perfectly correlated with the amount of dog shit being left where it falls along public footpaths. A few years ago, it was an uncommon sight. Recently, there's dog shit all over the place.
