I'll come back to this at some point, but I'm pretty sure there are some lovely deliberate homages to previous versions of Frankenstein in the beautiful @realgdt.bsky.social film. Including this moment from the 1958 Hammer film.

I would not have guessed the last 12 months would have given us the best versions of Dracula and Frankenstein in decades. Both quite incredible films.

This turned up in my feed the other day - shaving my head and beard to raise over £2.5k for MIND. It's still the only time I've been clean shaven in around 25 years or so. Might redo next year.

Love any of these pictures - they're from the Dracula Play, where Brett took over from Raul Julia for the touring version. Apparently, they went a bit more comedic and camp with it. Wish I could have seen all of these versions.

Apparitions. Honestly, top tier religious horror stuff - and it went as dark as anything I've seen. Conceptually great and really well-made. I think @alasdairstuart.bsky.social got me onto it.

I'm enough of a King, Kubrick and Shining fan that I have the Overlook carpet tattooed down my arm. So meeting the twins was as cool as it gets for me.

I ran a Q&A with Lisa and Louise Burns, AKA the Grady Twins from The Shining last night (after a screening in a bar on a double-decker bus!) and got to chat to them after - they're absolutely lovely.

Someone in the co-working space has sat in the corner of the room, on the side of the table facing the wall/mirror, back to the entire room, like Blair Witch. I've literally never seen anyone do this before. I'm a bit unnerved.
