I don’t have any myself, but will reach out to kid-having friends.
Anyone local have extra YA books? They seem to go fastest at the @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social, and reading is harm reduction

Ughhhh calling to leave a voicemail is hard, but if I did it, you can, too.
Called and left messages for @klobuchar.senate.gov and @smith.senate.gov asking them to hold firm on the ACA
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I’m taking this opportunity to work on defaulting to Book instead of Phone when I’m waiting a few minutes for something. I may not be able to make two full hours a day (I’ve just gotten really bad at sitting still), but I can definitely read MORE.
I am trying something in November. National novel-reading month, basically. It is the PERFECT month for reading (at least in the Western hemisphere).

it gets tiring to keep explaining what it means to be poor to people.

it is not that poor people don’t know that cooking is cheaper:

cooking costs time. it costs pots and pans. it costs a working stove and your utilities on. it costs you’ve been on your feet all day and your babies are tired.

This is a mandatory watch if you’ve ever wondered how people who profess to believe the Bible can act so differently from what the Bible seems to prescribe

As Dan explains, they don’t *believe* the Bible. They believe their identity politics and use the Bible to justify them

OK. I don't know why I did this, but I wrote up my run down of what I see as the condition of Saint Paul and then why I choose to support Mayor Carter

Thoughts on the Saint Paul Mayoral Race
I originally wrote this to get some thoughts down and then thought, why the hell does anyone care what I think? And I don't know if anyone cares about my thoughts but I wrote them anyway.
