I see a lot of people saying that a person charged with a crime deserves the chance to prove their innocence.

Please stop doing this because you have it backwards and this is really important.

It is ALWAYS the government's burden to prove a person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

My main point is that waiting for an aggressor to stop, or appeasing them, or being a good enough person that they just realize they were wrong—it doesn't work.

Once they have gotten violent, things are violent. Making them un-violent is not one of the available options.
I was raised in a violent home. The violence came from one direction, my father. I tried avoiding him, appeasing him, appealing to his "natural affection," being as "good" as possible, being invisible. Nothing worked.

The one thing I never tried was fighting back. I regret that.

The truth of the matter is that if anyone but Charlie Kirk had been killed at today’s shooting, then Charlie Kirk would be out there right now using the shooting as pretext to deliver arguments designed to make sure that the next shooting would happen, and the next one, and the next, and the next.

People need to pressure their republican reps on this! It's the only chance to try to get enough republicans to vote no. It may not work but worth the effort.
If the House passes this bill, it will increase costs and hurt working class families for generations to come. Call your representative today and tell them to vote no on this bill.

Huh... just last night I wondered why I've suddenly started seeing commercials for Paxlovid again. I assumed this was at least part of the reason, but I didn't want to actually dig in to find out I was right.

God, I hate it here... Earth, I mean. America specifically.

Honestly anyone complaining about Schumer right now can go fuck themselves. I don't love the guy, but Senate Democrats did an *incredible* job at taking out a whole host of indefensible parts of the Big Bullshit Bill, including attacks on trans people and the public land sell-off. They did great.

Hahahaha this is *huge* and the Republicans are *fucked*.

The House is almost certainly not gonna pass this budget. The hard-liners lost *every single one* of their extremist provisions.

And all because DEMS ARE FIGHTING BACK.
The sixth set of Byrd droppings is out and WOW - huge and COSTLY loss for Republicans.

Loan repayment changes can only be for new borrowers, and they lost on CSRs, can’t add new Hyde language, plus other stuff.

By my rough calculations, this just cost Republicans $150 billion or more of their cuts

White people continue to cling to the belief that if they don't use racial slurs, they can't be racist.

It oozes out, people. There are tells.

Republicans are trying to create a "stabilization fund" for rural hospitals to counteract the devastating cuts to Medicaid in their tax bill.

Let’s be clear, they're trying to solve a problem they’re creating.

The Dem Machine gave us JFK, LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Obama, Hillary,Biden and Kamala.

The only time I’ve felt safe in 65 years is when a Democrat was President.

So Fck straight off.

You want new leaders. Run and vote. It’s not magic. It’s your duty.

Take on republicans.

Fools really thought if they drove Biden out we would run into Bernie's arms. Like we would just suddenly switch up.

Never mind the logistics of standing up primaries last minute. I can't believe anyone who's ever organized literally any project or event thought that was feasible.
In 2020, we had primaries. Then we chose the nominee and his running partner. When we did that, we were saying, in effect, this is the team we agree on for the next eight years, assuming we win the presidency.

That's how it works.

It was never going to be and will never be that grifter Bernie.

Mark Cuban has been feeling himself lately. I totally don't believe this. I need VP Harris to acknowledge such as so. Until then, Cuban must be going thru a midlife & career crisis.

He needs to go buy a yacht or something. GTFOH!!

Yep. Poor white people who do not vote for Democrats are choosing poverty.
The reality however, is, poor white people will choose to stay poor white people as long as there are POORER Black and other POC.

If you don't understand that, you don't understand America. People keep looking beyond what's been right in front of them forever.
"The Trump administration has continuously turned on the voters who elected him, and his pivot against the poor will be felt the most by his base, which is largely white and poor (or barely middle class) in rural America."

My latest.
