I saw Stanley Tucci in disguise* at Victoria station. He was on the phone so I recognised his voice. He glare-smiled at me in a 'Yes, well done, it IS me' way so I thought it best not to wish him a Happy Easter after all and went to get my train

*70s glasses and a cap
I went to Pudsey ASDA and there was a cardboard cut out of Jason Donovan announcing that he was due to sign autographs an hour later .

But I left early because some local kid was staring at me in the McDonalds and he had dog shit all over his hoodie (the kid, not Donovan.)
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)

Great article 👏👏 Some sanity amidst the madness.
"England should certainly not feel bad about winning a bad Test match. But it should also be a part of a mutual pact in that we all agree to never speak of this game again."

Australia belted, England vindicated and Test cricket wounded in MCG farce
As England deservedly celebrates a long-awaited Test win in Australia, everyone else involved counts the cost of a farcical and damaging two-day disaster at the MCG.

"Other peoples' Christmases are *mental*" from Mal (Samuel Anderson) in #Amandaland was one of many belly laughs. A stand-out performance from Jennifer Saunders

Teenager Meth Den has to be one of the all time #DuvetKnowItsChristmas greats! It’s right up there with the Formica Stool of Chastity and Lemon Meringue Nightmare.
I’m entering The Teenager as potential winner of #Duvetknowitschristmas

He’s had to move from his bedroom to the unconverted attic

Cardboard floor & headboard is a nice touch which I’m sure he appreciates

He think it looks like he’s living in a meth den

When I worked at Royal Mail as part of the induction they showed us the section of the sorting office dedicated to working out vague/badly addressed post. One letter was addressed as a set of cryptic crossword clues and got to its destination.

…Bc even when "Gen AI" "Hallucinates" (gets stuff wrong), it is doing *Exactly* what it was built & trained to do. Users just, in those instances, don't happen to like the outputs.

Put another way, "Gen AI" is *Always* bullshitting ("hallucinating"); users just happen to like a lot of what it spews

In 1811-12, the Luddites attempted to resist some of the first waves of machine-industrialisation. They were crushed.

20 years later "pauper apprentices" (= orphan children) were being SOLD to factory-owners as cheap labour.

Think on, dear hearts, think on.
Oh no the Governor of the Bank of England compared AI to the Industrial Revolution

This makes me feel a little bit sick to read. There's no excuse for carelessness and shortcuts to avoid standard security-conscious procedures. I guess people in power are saying oh it'll all be fine. No.
These revelations confirm some of our worst fears that the Government’s digital ID system will put the public’s personal safety and privacy at risk.

#theashes are in disarray. Imagine inviting a visitor for a five day jaunt and they only stay for two or three, it's simply rude.

Mercilessly funny. Particularly liked the line about the English squad probably being back in the hotel pool by day four, engaging in bitter recriminations #TheAshes
I wrote a comedic piece about England's cricket performance destroying our summer economy's mianstay. But it's getting beyond a joke now. 🫣https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/australian-economy/england-cricket-losses-cost-australian-economy-millions/news-story/7988d317497695b5ad41a60d6bca53a6

Going to the mall so you can walk around. Hmn.
One of my English-in-America friends had the police called on her for walking around her rural neighbourhood. They pulled up and asked 'Everything okay, Ma'am?' as if she was an escapee or mad #urbanism #motornormativity @thewaroncars.bsky.social

I don't know if I have it in me to follow third test of #TheAshes. But the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿team has had a pep talk says Brook. They've been told to absorb pressure (don't swipe) - apply pressure - chase the ball hard to the boundary - and give 100% at all times. Fer shure!
