Since I have no intention of giving an American Red State my ID data to use fucking DM's here because of a puritanical and short-sighted British law change, if any of you want to keep in touch, I am on Signal as Cat Vincent (catvincent444.23).

NB I have a higher standard of conduct there.

Is it a coincidence, do we think, that transphobia most strongly took hold among members of a ruling class educated in a school system best characterised as one of organised, institutional child abuse?

One reason transphobia took hold so firmly in Britain is that a sizable number of British parents hate their kids and love having an excuse to abuse them. 'Fighting the trans social contagion' gives them that excuse.

To relax between big projects, I play around a lot in Photoshop and sometimes make imaginary products. If you've read Sandman Slim you'll recognize the band. I took the sheep skeleton shot in the desert somewhere east (?) of LA.

I have tried, and failed, to get treatment for this for decades, because my word doesn't mean shit and healthcare doesn't care. I have to bring a white guy to speak for me, and suddenly my condition is real.

Tell me again how the NHS isn't inherently full of misogynoir. Lie to me.

I feel like Kahlo would have hated this, just as she would've hated the commercialization of her works and even her likeness.
Upcoming Kahlo auction could fetch up to $60 million. Mexican art historians explain why
Frida Kahlo’s painting “El sueño (La cama)” is expected to fetch between $40 million and $60 million at auction, potentially making it the most expensive work by a female or Latin American artist.

We even have a longstanding art protocol for doing this. If you ever see Title (after Somebody) that means the artist is directly responding to Somebody’s art. It’s an ongoing conversation.
I counter the claim that "AI steals just the way human artists steal." We do not. Artists engage relationally with sources rather than severing them for computational processing. Computers are not people. Comparing generative tools to artists is a dehumanizing act.

Why can't journalists do basic fact checking? Defamation suits have to be brought within 12 months of the offending publication. Donald Trump can't sue the BBC, its just bluster.

Survey they just quoted on the radio said that 10% more people think the BBC is biased to the Left than think it's biased to the right. So, it's time for *checks notes* the Royalist loving, Farage loving, BBC to shift Right, apparently. You know, for balance and neutrality.

This is exciting, particularly the bit about how it doesn’t seem to trigger resistance. I hope this does provide some new antibiotics, that could potentially be incredible. Also, it’s kind of adorable that they weren’t even looking for a new antibiotic.
If this bears out this is perhaps the biggest health innovation since mRNA vaccines which like lol how crazy. This science interrupted the biological production of antibiotic producing mold and isolated an early molecule in the compound. That rules.
