I haven’t read a ton of the new mutants before and I’m finally going back and starting at the beginning and it’s great, I’m part way through the demon bear/sleepover arc and it’s fucking great.

Our overhire straight stagehand just asked me how many pushups I do because my chest looks great and also guessed that my age couldn’t be more than 32. I will miss him.

I don’t care for Beckett, Pinter, or Chekhov… I’ve done everything in my power to avoid working places where I am in danger of producing things by those playwrights.

I have now read two books about Cromwell, and the English civil wars, it wasn’t as dynamic and sexy as the wars of the roses and the Tudor dynasty… and it amazes me how quickly it just sort of… reverted to form

I have a playlist called “devastated white woman” inspired by @turnandstomp.bsky.social and I played it today at the shop- and our apprentice said “ man, I don’t think I’ve ever gone through anything so bad that I would want to listen to this playlist again.” Mission accomplished.

My friend Randy used to call the overstimulation and indulgence of any situation… “too much birthday” after the Berenstain Bears book. And after two weekends of wedding in a row, I’m absolutely feeling that.

Went to the Jack Kirby exhibit at the Skirball yesterday and I am still flipping out at these costumes Mr. Kirby designed for a UCSC Shakespeare production in the seventies. Getting to see it in person. We should all dress like this.
