This also affirms my recent posture that: why on earth would I ever give money to a politician when I could be helping people right outside my door through organizations that actually do the work?

Beyond the harm that it will to constituents once Republicans inevitably renege, backing down now does so much damage to the Democrats on the best week for their brand since 2020. Such loser behavior.
