its wild how much of the major plot beats in ff14 are lifted nearly wholesale off ff11: the ancients are zilarts, the ascians are kuluu, the modern world was made through fracturing the old one (reflections/mothercrystals), there's an encroaching existential force of nature (dynamis/emptiness)
