This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

The acting director of ICE told Congress, under oath, that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked raid plans, allowing gang members to escape.

After 9NEWS questioned ICE's claim and its timeline, ICE deleted the claim from its social media platforms.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Do you feel like having these dinners has given you more hope? Not necessarily the dinners, but the response has been so cool. I wrote about it three times last year, and it was some of the most viral stuff I’ve ever written. The videos I made got millions of views. I’ve been in the public eye as a professional political operative for nearly a decade. I’ve published two books. And the most-read thing I’ve done is talking about my husband cooking dinner. That is bananas to me. I think it’s indicative of a hunger for very concrete things you can do to build community in this moment. In the same way that I’m hopeful because I’ve seen 80,000 people sign up to run for office last year, I’m hopeful because every day my DMs have someone saying, “We just had our first potluck! I was inspired by your post. It was really fun.” It’s the same idea as the work we do at Run for Something, empowering people to take agency in their lives and run for office. I’m on brand in every space. You don’t have to settle for things being bad. You have incredible agency in your life. If your social life sucks, there are some things you can’t fix — but sometimes you can. It requires putting yourself out there and being vulnerable, and sometimes someone breaks a glass or flakes at the last minute, and that’s part of it. But if you want things to be better in any aspect of your life — political, personal, social — just because you cannot fix every root problem that has caused it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to fix some. You have agency. Things don’t have to suck.

CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

It is. Far beyond just saving riders money, free buses deliver a cascade of benefits, from easing traffic to promoting public safety. Just look at Boston; Chapel Hill, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; Kansas City, Mo.; and even New York itself, all of which have tried it to excellent effect. And it doesn't have to be costly - in fact, it can come out just about even. As a lawyer, I feel most strongly about the least-discussed benefit: Eliminating bus fares can clear junk cases out of our court system, lowering the crushing caseloads that prevent our judges, prosecutors and public defenders from focusing their attention where it's most needed.
