"In the face of the hopelessness that marks our modern lives, Dogwitch is marked by an insistent urge to be present, perceive, and try our damnedest to save difficult, dangerous creatures anyway."

I'm having trouble believing my luck in @violetagm.bsky.social's precise attention to these poems. ❤️

Today’s weather report
A wind came.

It blew across the land.

Predator: Badlands doesn’t just skewer toxic masculinity, it also offers a different model for masculinity and strength. And it mocks the notion of rugged individualism in favor of diverse community. It does so without being pretentious or forgetting why this has become a beloved franchise.

👋🏿 Next week is my VERY LAST in person lab exam and I'm $905 short of the coin needed to get me there/back cause Oct. gigs were iffy.

Thank you for rocking with me through 2.5 yrs of continuous calamity. This is the last 13.8% of this campaign. Every bit helps.
Oh Hai 👋🏿

If I can keep these gig contracts steady, the last 15% of this campaign (that I started in October 2022) will go to the bigger ticket items that I still need like neonate appropriate pulse oximeters, for ex., and my licensure exam fees.

This is what I came for.

We should be infinitely grateful that Trump and Musk and all these fascist oligarchs are so transparently miserable and pathetic. It shatters the fantasy that has kept capitalism humming and makes it undeniable that things have to change.

Just on a personal note, reporting this story broke my heart. Of all the unfathomable things Trump has done this year, putting SNAP recipients through this psychological hell tops the list. My endless gratitude to everyone who spoke to me. To all who who are suffering: I'm so sorry.

I’m very pleased that the campaigns for which I wrote postcards to voters triumphed yesterday. It’s invigorating to have a part, however small, in big change. And I just mailed out more cards for a special election in December!

The crisantemo (chrysanthemum) represent eternity, the returning cycles of the seasons.

The clavel (carnation) are the most durable, fragrant & were used to make floral crowns for the gods.

This year's parade had a special theme of 'Flores de la Ofrenda' (flowers of the altar), celebrating the significance of the marigold, chrysanthemum & carnation.
