The moment I saw the skeletal Highland cow at the store, I knew I must claim the bizarre bovine for my lawn. Now battle ensues.

Last night I completed this puzzle based on Kim Smith’s rendition of the Norman Lykes house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I picked it up in the gift shop when we visited Taliesin a couple of weeks ago. I love that it looks like an abandoned spaceship.

I finished this puzzle when I returned from my women’s retreat. I’ve done it before but I loved it so much I kept it and came back to it years later. Artist info in alt text

Not a great week for me, except for Exhuma and my rewatch of Kill List.

Day 28–I can’t believe the month is almost over! Today’s book is My Heresies by Alina Stefanescu. I almost didn’t buy this book because the cover squicks me out.

I’ve got to decide if I’m going to glue down a few last items, but it’s pretty much complete! I added the pumpkins for a seasonal touch.

I also kind of watched Kpop Demon Hunters. It was on while I worked on my latest build. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Thankfully @josejimenez.bsky.social was able to get me an English instruction manual and I’m making progress.

Woo! The anthology This Exquisite Topology is now available. It includes my humorous poem “Bewitched Border”, about a group of brujas who stand with the ancestors and against border patrol.

I was so excited that my newest building project—a mini café—arrived today. A little less so once I realized…the instructions are in Chinese. Fortunately it’s mostly an illustrated guide. Between that and Google translate, I may yet prevail.

It’s been a slow month because we’ve been watching Poker Face and finishing Twin Peaks: The Return. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Coming back from our vacation, we stopped in an antiques store in Illinois and I picked up this old matching game. Though called Bird Wonderland, it includes a bat and a lobster on the game cards, which tickles me. The latest patent number on the cards is Sept 15, 1914.

This is the puzzle I worked on during my sick time last week. I did it without consulting the box top, but I remembered it was a grid of dog faces, of course. That actually worked against me because I thought it was a regular, aligned grid, not offset like the actual.

Last night I completed this Bonjour puzzle called “Dove lake”. For extra challenge, I tried not to refer to the box top and was mostly successful. No artist info provided, but “Hebe. Studio” appears in the bottom left corner.

This is what’s been keeping me going for the last week. Now I need a new project to distract me from the world and my woes.

I worked on this jigsaw over the weekend. Soon I’ll take it apart so I have room for a Lego build.

The roofers are finished and my cat and I are getting reacquainted. Here he is on an easier day, looking down on me from his cat tree.

This photo doesn’t capture half the beauty of these treasures from @peculiarityshop.bsky.social. Thanks so much, artists! I’m absolutely delighted!
