Too many Ayrshires, not enough time. Half dairy farmer, half writer, all parent. Mostly cheese and kid stories.
Buying a region of land if it's residents are opposed to the sale is deeply, deeply undemocratic.
i'm surprised they haven't discovered that the president of denmark is a narco terrorist yet

Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

"Today, 88% of Greenland’s population are Inuit (predominantly Kalaallit) or mixed Danish and Inuit.... The Inuit Greenlanders identify strongly with Inuits in other parts of the world, like Canada and Alaska, and they actually share some similarities in their languages as well."

absolutely *unhinged* deductibles on these new plans!!! it's basically catastrophic insurance which does not help someone who needs maintenance treatment!
And the plans Republicans want people to have all have extremely high deductibles, because they don’t want anyone who isn’t rich to be able to be healthy.
btw for those who don't know why Americans with chronic illness got like 75% more stressed on Jan 1st, it is not just because all the insurance rates blew up.

On 1/1, deductibles reset. which means you have to spend some amount of money (up to $10k sometimes) before your insurance COVERS ANYTHING

Today is one of those days where I’m struck anew by how *bad* the internet has gotten. It’s almost unusable. Clouds, apps, advertising — nothing is where it should be and it’s nigh impossible sometimes to do basic tasks online.

This is what we mean when we say that Musk's project has been to make 4chan mainstream.
Paid tools that “strip” clothes from photos have been available on the darker corners of the internet for years. Elon Musk's X is now removing barriers to entry—and making the results public. www.wired.com/story/grok-i...

you guys cannot imagine how much hobbies that require your phone to be off improve your life right now.
i completely agree that this is the key problem with Bluesky discourse right now: The Circumstances are genuinely toxic right now.

log off.

go scream at an inanimate object.

dig a hole.

continue digging until you've got a burrow.

hide in the burrow.

do not bring your phone
my hot take is that I don't think it's this website specifically that's toxic. the Circumstances are toxic and nobody really knows what to do about it so they come online and scream. and if I may offer an alternative: actually going outside and screaming feels better.

one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it

Food was scarce, and the government of the quote-unquote United Kingdom looked for alternatives. 1/

Generative AI is an engine for churning out contaminated information faster than people can produce safe information, let alone fact check and correct it.

And corrections never remove the original contamination, it's an attempt to stem the metaphorical bleeding and hope for the best. 11/

What's totally crazy is the press could write these stories exactly with this wording and make it a headline but they don't
If the biggest donor to the DCCC/DNC ran a website where you could use AI to take women's clothes off I feel like there'd be a demand for Dems to give the money back.
