Oh, so now it's fine to have a war on Christmas
Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

In my time at Game Informer, it has never been available at newsstands, but it's always been something I've dreamt of for the magazine. You can still subscribe if you're in the US, but starting soon, you'll also be able to walk into various retailers and buy the issue you want. We're so excited!
Coming this December: Game Informer will be available in major retailers – including @barnesandnoble.com, GameStop, WH Smith, Books-A-Million and more – in the US and internationally. Learn more: gameinformer.com/letter-from-...

The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

To Kat's point, I have always said that the easiest thing to do in the face of reports of gendered violence is nothing. People desperately want to do nothing. And pushing them to do literally anything is seen as an attack.
It has always been so obvious that the backlash to MeToo isn’t about whether the abuse is happening but whether people are allowed to want it to stop

Absolutely cannot wait to bust down the doors for a drink made by a company whose unionized workers are on strike in a store that doesn’t want to hire minorities anymore.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Go have your AI play it.

But here's the thing, every attempt to wear down my resolve on this is only strengthening it, and I am sick of it. I don't think I can overstate just how sick of it I am, because you don't know the amount of AI generated shovelware that's been flooring my inboxes, but every day there's more of it.

Remember that? When artists spoke out against the whole NFT hype bubble, you had these absolute pieces of shit who would just steal their art and sell it as their own on crypto exchanges. People said resoundingly that they didn't want this, and they got their art stolen as an act of revenge.

Quite frankly, I find that the people who are rejecting the generative AI tech, who are refusing products with that kind of AI, have a much more thorough understanding of it than those who are buying into the AI hype bubble. The only people dazzled by it are CEOs who can't see past the dollar signs.

Execs are trying to muddy the waters around Gen-AI as a ‘push against all AI’ because they hear the unified dissent and they want to crush it via division. Don’t let them. Say it louder. Every time you see a statement like this, push back harder. Let them know you see them exactly for who they are.

Casey is right here. GenAI is being rejected pretty roundly.

But automation? Procedural generation? Algorithmic calculation? These are just tools that people use, you still have to do the work and creativity. Those aren't the things solidly rejected. Tell your friends!
I can understand asking for nuance in these discussions, but deliberately muddying the water by bringing up automation tools that people understand are not generative AI and asking for a middle ground is disingenuous. The nuanced position is that people are roundly rejecting the tech, respect that.

I honestly want more games that utilize specific desires like mapping out cartoon spaces, exploring interactions that don't have a lot of reason to happen, that kinda thing.
