Look at how the Shah spent the Iranian oil wealth. On top of all the opulence he built up the 5th largest military on the planet and they both couldn't and wouldn't defend his regime when push came to shove. It's easy to spend stupidly.

It's people doing the, "They've been here a long time so they deserve it" thing which is a common fandom way of thinking but not the way AEW runs.
Not to be cunty (because I believe they'll be on the chase for the titles once they're established and will probably win once more people get behind them) but I'm surprised anyone thought tayjay was going to win the tourney tbh.
