It's my birthday today. No celebration. Instead, I'm getting on a plane at 7pm tonight to be with my mom for her breast cancer surgery tomorrow.

My birthday wish is that you buy my book so that I can earn out, and hopefully keep writing. Thank you. bookshop.org/p/books/magi...

Still spending time in this soft seaside fog
Ugh I got a free sample of Arcana Her Sea and it's hauntingly lovely, would never have picked this for myself. Good thing it's sold out bc I am absolutely not buying any perfumes right now!

I think a common misconception about abolitionalist politics is that abolition means destroying something.

If you read the books on this list, you'll come to understand abolition as deeply, challengingly, life-givingly creative. Abolition is about creating new worlds & ways of being.

"What are the red flags of enemy feminism? For starters, fear: an emphasis on danger over pleasure; a preoccupation with purity; technophobia; congealed opinion; resistance to surprise or novelty; and the desire for strong borders.... But by far the most common feature of enemy feminism is racism."
I wrote about @reproutopia.bsky.social's excellent book "Enemy Feminisms: Terfs, Policewomen, and Girlbosses Against Liberation" for the new @nplusonemag.com
“Given the history of intrafeminist conflict, Lewis suggests, it’s time we gave up the comforting myth that feminism is always and everywhere a force for good.”

I can't express how much this needs to be shouted. Put it on billboards all over DC.
elected democrats who want their constituents to remain non-violent in their protests of these abuses must actually offer a path for ending the abuses non-violently. they currently are not as a party and it’s a major problem.
🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.

He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

We as the repro movement need to do a better job of prepping our people to concisely answer politically charged anti-trans questions while serving as expert witnesses.

"Can men become pregnant?"
"Yes, trans men and intersex men can become pregnant."

Next question.

The reality is that ICE and DHS actually CAN and ARE attacking people who are exercising their rights.

I say this NOT to dissuade anyone from exercising those rights, but to challenge @tedlieu.bsky.social and other politicians to do more to protect those rights than post this kind of thing.
The First Amendment protects the public’s right to:

1. Film ICE in public

2. Photograph ICE in public

3. Observe what ICE does in public

ICE and DHS officials cannot lay a finger on any American who is peacefully exercising First Amendment rights.
