I should probably post something so people know I'm alive: FTP, all presidents are war criminals, and I got a new puppy and I named him after soy sauce.

Media coverage of Gaza has plummeted. So today on @thenation.com, we're doing something pretty special: we're only running pieces by people in and from Gaza.

We're calling it "A Day for Gaza." You can find links to all of the incredible pieces here. Please read! www.thenation.com/article/worl...
A Day for Gaza
Today, The Nation is turning over its website exclusively to stories from Gaza and its people. This is why.

I was absolutely inspired thanks to the liberal politics of @wilwheaton.net

I havent done real art in like...a year. Im so glad his gross comments blaming the victims of a broken system ignited me

Now Wil, what is that "pony" you were talking about?

A piece of chicken, one piece of broccoli, and a single tortilla is eerily similar to the meal I made when I was depressed and putting my body through hell to lose weight.

Ebenezer Scrooge didn't have a terrified, weeping breakdown because the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come showed him people who were sad he'd died.

Because they know you will tolerate them.

I’m so sick of hearing rich white men’s fantasies about the Little People savvily negotiating their healthcare costs after carefully examining the identical prices at every hospital as they clutch their chests. Let me tell you a horror story. 1/
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

"AI is the asbestos in the walls of our technological society, stuffed there with wild abandon by a finance sector and tech monopolists run amok. We will be excavating it for a generation or more."

This piece on AI by Cory Doctorow is spectactular.

Remember—Billionaire philanthropy is PR

$6.25B is a lot of money. It’s also only 4.1% of the $152B Michael Dell has hoarded. If Dell paid the 37% tax rate on the wealthy he'd pay $56.25B—and still have nearly $100B, more than he'd ever need

Taxation of billionaires > philanthropy from billionaires

Find something to love the way Liberals love rehabbing fascist republican war criminals
Watching the funeral of VP Dick Cheney and listening to his daughter, Congresswoman Liz Cheney, speak. One can only hope that this GOP will find its democratic compass again and reject all things fascist. I didn’t always agree with VP Cheney BUT he was antifa. He always put country over party.RIP🙏

Big politics knower asserts Democrats are "dovish" on war while also joking about the systematic murder of thousands of civilians via drone strikes. How can you even satirize this?
It’s kind of funny when you write a major chunk of your dissertation and your first book on drone strikes — doing fieldwork in Pakistan (and nearly Yemen too) — and people are like “betcha didn't know about those bad drone strikes in Yemen, huh?”
And who could forget those dovish drone-striked weddings? Classic peaceful behavior.

You can love someone you love even if you don't love yourself🏳️‍⚧️
But if you love yourself, you can love both yourself and the person you love. Your love becomes twofold.
So take care of yourself.
