On the way home from an early dinner out I drove by a Grocery Outlet. I was curious to see what it was like so I stopped in.
Friends, it was absolutely normal...like any given day!
So I grabbed dairy to make a chocolate bread pudding tomorrow.

Non ironic thoughts & prayers to the parent I just saw leave the restaurant with 3 kids in the 5-7 age range. They're going to be busy today.
But also, starting a piggy back for one in the restaurant while the others lose their minds that they don't get one, miiiiiight not have been the best call.😆

The framing of this story as "£148k tax bill" rather than "woman inherits a £1.2 million pound house and *only* has to pay 10% tax" is because the news media want people to be upset about tax, rather than upset at the rich paying very little of it.

A good small thread abt Starbucks in grocery stores. Useful if toure wondering about how to handle them during the strike.
I've had a couple questions regarding Starbucks workers at grocery stores. If they are in Oregon and its a Fred Meyer, Albertsons, or Safeway they are union but not the Starbucks Worker's Union. These workers are grocery clerks who work for the store whose name is on the building, not Starbucks.

somebody on here suggested awhile back that a pretty compelling 2028 Democrat campaign promise would be "on day one I will deploy a WPA-scale army of forensic accountants across every square inch of the federal government" and I think about that every day
