The “no verbs” thing is incredibly 90s, and isn’t due a comeback.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

Jumpers at NT in 1976 was where I fell in love with Tom Stoppard’s work. Did my O Level dissertation on his early stuff, obsessed over Professional Foul on the TV, and always thought he was the reason I’ve ended up making comedy for a living. A giant of his craft — RIP.

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

Footnote on the authorship of that Melody Maker review: a bellend, apparently
That's Allan Jones, according to Wikipedia, the enfant terrible of Melody Maker in the mid '70s. Memorable for his reply to Phil Lynott's comment about something being an insult "to my people" - Jones said "which people - the Irish or the darkies?" which still shocks 50 years later; Lynott hit him.

My (long widowed) mother-in-law sold her detached house in Nottingham to move to a flat in Uxbridge & joined the local walking group. New sights, new friends and a free bus pass; she’s never regretted it.
Once again grateful for the hyper-rationalism of my parents, who having cared for older relatives knew you had to do this and, really, your QoL becomes better the earlier you do.
But is downsizing in your 60s really very attractive if you don’t have to?

People don’t want to embrace old age too early (understandably!) or plan too much for care, they want to keep space for grandkids etc. And leaving a family home is a huge wrench and hassle
