Extraordinary film from the BBC’s archive. Marvel at Marty Feldman as he chats to pretty much everyone working in comedy in 1969.

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

If you haven’t seen it then you’re in for a real treat.

Apologies to anyone expecting us to be at the Tales Of The Weird event at the British Library this weekend, but in support of the PCS industrial action, we’ve decided not to cross the picket line. Will and I are both former librarians, and want to show support to the striking staff.

Surely the only qualification to do any job is that when you ask Chat GPT to do something in your field, you can quickly spot where it’s fucking up? If you just ask it and trust it, then anyone could do your job, and you’re fired?

With AI, the one thing we’ve not had enough of is experts.
dawg we are gonna lose a war because ChatGPT has this guy mobilizing divisions that don't exist and tasking real troops with holding mountain passes and ports an LLM hallucinated

Every word... more people with RTD's clout and influence need to be standing up and speaking out in this way. "Censorship is in us." TV needs leaders and champions who stand up for the world we want to see and be. "TV is a light in the dark and we must not let that flame go out!"

Reluctantly agreed to go and see “Weapons” at an Odeon screen that was smaller than some cornflakes boxes I’ve bought. Anyway, it left me entirely unmoved until it turned into a madcap CFF kids film at the end. That bit was great.

It's very good, I think. I wrote some stuff for it, but it's the mad concept and the gorgeous imaginations of these nutty directors that make it so brilliant. The last five minutes are incredibly moving, but it's all, all of it, so FULL and CLEVER and BEAUTIFUL. Love those nutters. ❤️❤️

I love the way this sequence goes from cutting edge zoomed opticals, optical wipes, through a rushed re-print to add in Ken W’s name, to some of the ropiest Letraset-by-a-junior-AP in the back of the scanner I remember seeing. Bonus marks for jostling past the racks to make the caption bounce.
