The Moneypenny Adventures.

With Wishaw as a robot dog Q,
and M as a 1960s computer in the attic.

Cuts both ways though. Poppies a bit of a sensitive area for China/UK relations.

I decided not to watch, but played by putting myself in Studio Lambert’s shoes. From the off, I cast Ross (rather than Osman) as a “prince of darkness” character and Carr as “comic foil”. I didn’t pick a female “sweetie” character (because I didn’t know the celebs) but assumed there would be one.

Their light switches still work the wrong way round, despite us pointing it out several times when we were still friends.

Not sure if ITC would have been covered by these blankets though.
November 4, 2025 at 7:05 PM
ITV had a blanket too. But importantly, the blankets were only for UK&Eire. Initially. Then world rights could be picked up later, for a fee. Videogram was then later included for a standard royalty to keep things simple. I think. Once these agreements lapsed it became more complicated/expensive.

I toured with him in theatre. Shy, reserved, but a great company member. Always offering to help with get-outs. Frightening driver of a Golf GTi though…

I think he’s been allowed to keep a photo of a crown to blu-tac onto the wall.

I think multi-channel signal paths in “surround sound” systems are the devil’s work.

Imagine a colour film that got converted to low-contrast PAL, then got switched to Black&White, then re-colorized for HDR and finally shown on a standard HD tv.

That’s what happens already with sound, pretty much.

Also: Can my music downloads be equalised for people playing on proper speakers and not through bluetooth earbuds please?
October 30, 2025 at 3:13 PM
That is supposed to be what happens already… but it’s often not available on streaming platforms, where you then get an automatic conversion to “stereo” that isn’t editorially adequate.

You can’t see the join, canula?

Definitely here for the story that is basically a Time Lords Council Zoom meeting that gets badly out of control and maybe even a bit racist.

I first learnt about this mnemonic earlier this year, and I think it’s a recent thing. Both my brother and I were runners in Soho (him in the 60s, me in the 70s) and neither of us had heard of it. Obviously not the Billie Piper version.

I am here for this content.

That could be part of the problem. If Scotland is getting a proportional share of the licence fee to create its own national identity across all output, it is less easy to argue for more of what’s left (which isn’t much in the first place). The Barnett Formula etc.

Glasgow was a big centre of great comedy production at the BBC, and although there was a talent drift to independents (eg Absolutely) it is still a Thing. IDK about other genres, but there are still specific National budgets in Scotland I think.
