OK, that was really good.

I totally enjoyed this film, mainly as I wasn't expecting it to be this good.

A well packaged bluray + extras.

It's TAPLOW!!!

I've been to that pub. My late aunt lived there in the 80s/90s.

Went to a wedding nearby and stayed there for a weekend.

Totally agree.

It's light years better than the badly edited and predictable drear-fest that came before it.

OK, I'm 39 mins in and Jack has made several trips to London and bought a 'burner' car. The film hasn't explained why he's doing this, but it definitely works to create mystery and audience curiosity.

I think so anyway.

Correction.

"...MAKE rice.

I actually ascribed too much articulacy to him and used the correct verb in the quote.

Well, that is unless he created/gene-sequenced (and then grew) the rice plant itself before cooking.

I broke the habit of a lifetime (I'm a great connoisseur of human folly) and looked up a video of who/what he actually is.

Interview on YouTube.
He had every opportunity to impress the viewer. Described meeting chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

An actual quote:
"He showed me how to cook...rice."

Note that Sarah - one of the most startlingly unpleasant, malicious people at the Daily Mail, a very unpleasant and malicious business - has been happy to play along with the entire tidal wave of hate but she starts swooning like a southern belle, the moment someone has a go at *her* profession.
