the number one predictor of if a person is ultimately going to champion the public good or not in modern American society is if they have the intellectual integrity to separate "I'm uncomfortable with something" from "This thing is morally wrong and must not exist"
the “I have been asked to sacrifice some part of my own lifestyle for the public good” -> “I have gone Full Fash” pipeline claimed basically the whole VC set, every tech executive, and the entire centrist pundit class
I like that America basically had a weak lockdown for just a little bit, and in that time all the people went online and lost their minds in like a week or two
