This week, the House votes on DHS funding.

I will not vote to give ICE a single cent.

No more blank checks for a rogue agency that operates above the law, escalates violence, and erodes our most basic freedoms.

Weekend ICE Report (Jan 17–18)
Today marks 49 days of ICE in Minneapolis.

The information in this video comes from unpaid community volunteers who patrol our neighborhoods to document ICE activity when no one else will.

These abductions don’t always make headlines, but they happen every day.

THE MAN THEY TOOK WRAPPED IN A BLANKET IS A U.S. CITIZEN.

This is the Kavanaugh Stop of all Kavanaugh Stops.
Sunday, at least 7 ICE agents stormed a house and took an elderly man out into the freezing cold, wearing only his underwear and a blanket.

He was a member of the Hmong community, which came to the area from Laos in the 1970s after siding with the US in the Vietnam War.

Democrats should be the ultimate champions of immigration. “We won two world wars and invented the internet because immigrants get the job done.”

Instead they’ve squandered decades chasing the gop on “border security” shit.

It's not just the St. Paul Doubletree.
The Intercontinental in downtown St Paul is also shutting for now.
According to the Pioneer Press, they're both operated by an indigenous tribe, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.

FYI, ICE has been arresting Native Americans.

A pastor is the acting director of an ICE field office?
CONFIRMED:

Earlier today Don Lemon reported a protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, MN where they said pastor David Easterwood is Acting Director of the ICE Field Office.

They were 100% right.

question for all you folks out there who believe in police reform in Minneapolis - shouldn't MPD be investigating and arresting the person who assaulted a 6 month old baby and sent him to the hospital unconscious and unable to breathe?

Great work, ICE…it’s much scarier going after criminals who are actually on the streets.
Homeland Security insists that ICE operations are targeting criminals. MPR News examined the agency's "worst of the worst" lists and found most of the people there had been immediately transferred to ICE custody at the end of time served in Minnesota prisons. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
Some criminals ICE takes credit for arresting were already in Minnesota prisons
Several of the 13 “worst of the worst” criminals that the Department of Homeland Security said were arrested in Minnesota through its immigration enforcement operation were actually handed over to ICE...

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

ICE isn’t making rare mistakes. This is the point.

When an agency can grab people first and sort out rights later, if they bother at all, everyone is at risk. Citizen or not.

Lots of people running with ICE’s claim that someone attacked them with a shovel so they were justified in shooting two people. What kind of shovel? It’s like 10 degrees outside, there hasn’t been snow in days. Why would someone just happen to have a shovel on hand after a high speed chase?

Come see first hand what they have done to my community. Then tell me to walk back the rhetoric to my face.
There is growing belief now among some Democratic leaders that lawmakers must ride the wave of anti-ICE backlash without getting too far out ahead of their skis and potentially making themselves more vulnerable to GOP attacks.
