Incredibly bleak situation in Sudan.
“Individuals on the ground sent a message that reached us Monday morning that 1,200 were dead,” Nathaniel Raymond, the lab’s executive director, said. “By that evening, they said 10,000. By Tuesday, we couldn’t reach them anymore. We assume our ground contacts are dead.”

Little known uncomfortable facts.

'Liberal' Clegg's biggest donor was Paul Marshall, now known as the far-Right owner of (K)GB News.

Danny Alexander went from very obscure MP to Clegg's deputy in 'The Quad', to head of the Asian Infrastructure Bank.

The reality is worse than we thought.
The White House proposed the largest single-year cut to NASA in history. We urge Congress to reject this proposal and work on a bipartisan solution for a strong space program that reflects humanity’s potential.

I’m finding it very hard to understand the stance of the Royal Society here. Science is part of society, not separate from it, existing in some strange metaphysical bubble. I look across the Atlantic, aghast at the damage being done to science and scientists.

NEW 🧵 Is human intelligence starting to decline?

Recent results from major international tests show that the average person’s capacity to process information, use reasoning and solve novel problems has been falling since around the mid 2010s

What should we make of this?

Its worth noting that while people now understand that Trump is really pro Putin/Russia, they have yet to grasp that he is also pro Xi/China. The anti-China stuff is as false as the tough on Russia stance people were saying he would take.
