Maternity scandals, physical and psychological birth trauma, limited and costly childcare, inflexible workplaces, rising costs in every domain. The UK isn’t making parenthood exactly appealing.

In Germany kids are given a schultüte on their first day at school - essentially a Christmas stocking of goodies. My Scotland-born daughter was counting her lucky stars for those Köln roots this morning.

Excellent to see this commitment to include older adults in research. Cries of ‘wokery’ will be fewer & quieter for the protected characteristic of age, yet the principles of equity and inclusion are the same as with sex, gender, ethnicity & pregnancy status. All matter
