To your point, Dobszay is good on this. But he was an actual scholar, AND he also made it crystal clear that his personal opinion borne of his individual scholarship must be subordinated to his status as an obedient layman of the Holy See -- none of them things a Kwasniewski can say about himself

held onto it for a bit but my take on tradition and the liturgy and that related stuff
but this is what grinds my gears abt the extreme anti-traditionalism you sometimes find here
you can say what you like but it’s just impossible for me to say the liturgy actually improved on the whole
participation is good but the liturgy is more than some issues of praxis

The Roman Canon should be safe, legal and rare. Perfect for the highest holy days and for any feast of those named in it; otherwise, EP3 is great for Sundays and other feasts, and EP2 for weekdays. EP4 is so rare I have no opinion on it

Watched the first half of the extended edition of The Two Towers with the kids tonight. Sure, cgi has gotten better in the past 20 years but the way Gollum is integrated with the other characters and environment still works.
