Next week, 5 teens from Palestine will head to Panama to compete in one of the world’s largest youth robotics competitions.

The goal? To win—and teach STEM to their peers displaced by Israel's war and occupation of Palestine.

My New Year’s resolution is to bring the use of the word “bollocks” into fashion in the US
January 1, 2026 at 7:07 PM
Such an absurd norm. Imagine applying it to any other mayoral office in the US.

“The mayor of Sacramento is expected to visit Iceland, and to promote municipal relations between Sacramento and Iceland, and privilege Icelandic academic institutions.”
Also it shouldn't be dismissed that the norm up until now was that the Mayor of NYC was *expected* to visit Israel, and to promote municipal relations between NYC and Israel cities; and privilege Israeli academic institutions, and so on and so forth. This isn't considered odd bc it was status quo.
Yes he's a municipal executive but it's the biggest municipality in the country and has the largest blocs of Jews and Muslims in any municipality period, and mayors express their opinions on a great many topics all the time. It's not that he will be a diplomat but that his views are normalized.

No year-end article thread from me - I just want to re-share the 1 thing I did in 2025 that means the most to me.

On the Palestinian youth robotics team, and their mentors, who strive to bring robotics/STEM access to fellow Palestinians impacted by conflict:

Almost like it was never about Hamas
— There were an estimated 20,000–25,000 Hamas fighters before October 7, 2023.

— Netanyahu said Tuesday there now remain 20,000 Hamas fighters.

🔴 On December 30, 2025 after Israel annihilated all of Gaza and massacred at least 80,000 Palestinians.

Clippers are about to win their 11th game, putting the Jazz 1 win ahead of the 6th-worst record in the NBA.

IMO the path is obvious: Keep Markkanen, maybe soft sell some non-essentials like Svi at the deadline, do any little massaging required to keep the pick - then hit the gas next year.

We’re going on a solid decade straight of Thurl Bailey on Jazz broadcasts talking about how screen assists “don’t show up on any stat sheet”

Except the NBA has had those stats the entire time, they’re publicly available

@cjzero.bsky.social Any chance we could get Walter Clayton Jr. dunk from 5:49 2Q of Jazz-Celtics?
December 31, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Casual 23 points, 4 assists and 3 boards for Keyonte George in that first half. Jazz were +22 in his minutes and -17 when he sat. Dude is just really good now, apparently.
December 31, 2025 at 3:03 AM
Never seen that before - Keyonte went down under the Boston basket after a rim attempt, and the Jazz proceeded to get TWO consecutive steals at 4 on 5 and score twice.

Thinking removing Netanyahu will fix the problems in Palestine, is the same sort of logic that thinks removing Trump will magically fix the US.

These people did not create the problems, they are the end result of broken culture. Decades of mistakes led to both of them and the current situation.
Removing Netanyahu from office would do precisely nothing to change the Gaza genocide, which is extremely popular with the mainstream Israeli public, nor the daily pogroms in the West Bank. Israelis don't see Palestinians as fellow humans. They speak about it extremely openly. We pretend not to hear
