The “open the schools back up, our children are being irreparably damaged” crowd from 2020 is silent on this, to everyone’s great shock.
Talmage’s entire school district, one of the biggest in the state, is now offering hybrid learning specifically because unaccountable federal government paramilitaries have made it so difficult for nonwhite children and their families to leave their homes.

i think even with all the atrocities of the fascists, nothing is more demotivating and nothing makes me want to disengage from politics more than being inundated with replies from people who do not know how to think about politics beyond “dems good and wanting more from them is bad”

I don't think we collectively realize how quickly this is going to spiral even further. They've murdered someone on camera and realized they won't get in trouble for it. It's going to get so much worse as that reality sets in fully.

Being a true opposition party isn't nearly as profitable as the grift they've got going.
it makes complete sense, they don’t want to be an opposition party. they’ve told everyone this repeatedly, there’s not going to be any moment where they come around on this. Schumer was yucking it up with Rubio a day ago, they’re happy with this status quo
dem strategy makes no sense. voters don't like how chaotic trump is. media and dumb swing voters just convinced themselves he would be more normal in round 2. when dems downplay trump latest insanity, it cedes ground and creates the impression that what he is doing is within the realm of reason.

Classic Democratic no-win. All of them voted against the OBAA, which supercharged ICE funding and hiring. But they won't say they'd "abolish ICE" so they'll get yelled at (mostly by people who'll vote for them in the midterms after threatening not to).

I know everything with Trump is nuts, but it's worth noting the true insanity of a sitting US president insisting to the American people that something they can watch with their own eyes actually did not happen.
Trump insisted not only that the officer was struck, but that he was so badly injured by it that he remains hospitalized and his survival is in doubt.
