I just created a series of seven deep-dive videos about AI, which I've posted to youtube and now here. 😊

Targeted to laypeople, they explore how LLMs work, what they can do, and what impacts they have on learning, well-being, disinformation, the workplace, the economy, and the environment.
Part 1: How do LLMs work?

The carmina burana started playing in someone’s office near mine and at the same time as a test of the university emergency system went out. Kinda hoping this was not just a coincidence

Someone resurrected this thread as potentially helpful for instructors trying to figure out how to manage disruptions to schoolwork due to ICE occupation.

If it’s helping, I’m happy to repost it too:
In light of today’s conversation on academic accommodations, I’m going to revive a thread lost to time when I deleted my Twitter profile.

It’s about a bunch of academic accommodations that instructors can offer in lieu of an extension on an assignment. 🧵

Have you used Project Implicit for class demo or research? I know I have. Project Implicit fundamentally changed social psych research and public discourse. Its impact is too big to write in one post. But all this work is in jeopardy, so pls join me in donating to sustain Project Implicit!!

Project Implicit is facing an existential threat. After almost 30 years, 60 million visitors, and hundreds of published papers, funding for our work has disappeared.

We’ve never held a fundraising drive before, but we need your support to keep our site running. Please consider donating! 🙏
Project Implicit is a research nonprofit behind tools millions use to understand bias. Like many public science orgs, sustaining this work has become increasingly difficult. We are at risk of closing without additional support.

Ohio only permits one ballot dropbox per county, so the grace period for mailing a ballot is a key convenience for those who cannot easily access a dropbox. Mail voting is particularly popular among older voters and those with disabilities.
Ohio Bans Grace Periods for Mail Ballots, Fulfilling Trump’s Wishes
Ohio is the fourth GOP-run state this year to ban ballots that are postmarked by Election Day but arrive after. A Supreme Court case could force that policy nationwide next year.
