It's literally the opposite, though. Buttons and levers provide positive tactile feedback, which means only the sense of touch is required to operate them. Touchscreens necessitate you taking your vision from the road and focusing on it which takes longer and presents more of a safety risk.

I have been thinking about this for three days and I'm honestly a bit upset about this. Can't be good for our scholarship - "our" being "everyone's."
(Also, icyi, here are the 42 papers citing our non-existent paper which includes a "meta-analysis" - often called the evidence "gold standard" - of "LLM effects" in education 🤮

This fall, my father's health took a turn for the worse. He's still alive, hanging in there, but under hospice care at home. My stepmother @torilmoi.bsky.social created a website for him so everyone can see what a remarkable man and scholar he has been.

I mean, hell, if you really believe GenAI is making your product better, you should not be relying on someone else to tag it.

It is weird how enthusiastic folks are to brand something with an “AI” label when users have no choice, but are so hesitant to do so otherwise.

Paul Ekman died last week - I found out via @hillaryanger.bsky.social on FB. Surprised there's no NYT or WashPo obit.
I took a class with him and he was friends/coauthors with my friend's mom. Hugely impactful on the field. Too much to say in a skeet.

Here’s where it gets personal for me. When I was 9, I started experiencing suicidal ideation … disinterested in living, and at least some of the time contemplating death and how it might happen … It’s easy to imagine how I would have used programs like these chatbots.
Perry: How can AI be used ethically when it’s been linked to suicide?
"It’s not on us, on you and me, to use AI ethically or responsibly. It’s on the companies to build safe, reliable, ethical products," David M. Perry writes.
