A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

That’s not even close to an apology. And besides, Denmark lost more people per head of the population than *any* other country in Afghanistan. The obviousness of his contempt for crucial alliances matches the obviousness of his contempt for the truth.

It is impossible to overstate how sinister this is. Not only is the US govt blatantly lying about recorded events like the killing of Renee Good and Trump mistaking Iceland for Greenland, they are now manipulating images to create a new digital record.

White House posts digitally altered image of woman arrested after ICE protest
Guardian analysis shows images are the same, with Nekima Levy Armstrong looking composed in original but sobbing after alteration

What a sickening lie from a coward who dodged military service, unlike the brave, beautiful, young volunteers from Britain and other countries who died or were mentally/physically injured in Afghanistan. And they were there in response to the USA calling for NATO support.

I feel sick with anger.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

Danish Parliament Deputy Speaker Lars-Christian Brask:

"If I could come with some advice, it would be for the Senate & House to start to take control of political power in America because with this erratic & mad behaviour, you have to ask the question, is the President capable of running the US?"

After analyzing my work, AI declared Dorothy Dunnett my greatest literary influence. The conclusion was technically accurate about what my prose does, except I’ve never read her. I didn’t even know who she was.

We have to classify, X, Facebook and the rest of the tech platforms as ”publishers“, legally responsible for everything that appears. It’s unnaceptable that they hide behind their users & use the “nothing to do with me, guv” defence.

They make untold billions.

It’s up to THEM to police their sites

Thousands left without water in the middle of winter in the UK. And those same people are now facing a massive bill hike.

Privatised water is a scam.

I've written to the Prime Minister asking why he won't end this rip off and bring failing South East Water into public hands.

One of the few things that might actually get some kind of reaction from Musk would be the government and all MPs simply leaving X.

This doesn't require regulatory or legal action. There are no barriers. They could *and should* just do it.
Liz Kendall to give a Commons statement today on online regulation. She wrote this Telegraph piece, calling this a tipping point.

I'd like to hear govt + the regulator show that they are taking the full range of unlawful content seriously - not just one strand
